This year has been a big one for me. It has included a lot of self dedicated learning and research to improve what I do both in the classroom and in my little Teachers Pay Teachers store– Jooya Teaching Resources.
I have learned skills about blogging, marketing, using different tools and tech stuff. Some of this has been able to transfer into the classroom, and sometimes it has been the other way and what I done in the classroom has transferred here into this blog space! It is definitely a two way street, sometimes a busy highway, other times a very deserted country road with no traffic at all!
I started this little journey at the end of 2013, and have kept going in various degrees of energy ever since. One thing I learnt early one was that the most successful teacherpreneurs all had a blog—so started one too. I wasn’t very regular with it in the beginning, trying to do it all was not easy at times. But in 2016, I made a promise to myself to get more serious with this side of Jooya Teaching Resources. I never considered myself to be a writer, and actually hated doing it while studying, but did it because I had to. This has changed this year, I actually enjoy writing these posts, and I do hope that you enjoy reading them. My aim is to make 2017 even better, and to do that, I need to admit a few things from this year –a type of keeping myself accountable if you will.
So below is a list of my Top 10 Blog Posts from 2016. They are all linked to the post, so go ahead and check them out
- Classroom Decorations
- Using the Super Six to Research and Write
- Using the Super Six in Music—Making Connections

It is interesting to me, especially now that these blog posts are listed, two things stand out. The first is people are looking for more information on teaching the Super Six, and secondly if I put a number in the title, people will read the post!
So, now to 2017. It can only keep getting better. I am aiming to still post once per week in 2017, and maybe there will be a few extras thrown in too!
In 2017 I am hoping to do a few things differently, and some things just the same.
Happy Teaching
Julia from Jooya
